Baby’s turning 1

My little Jaiden baby is turning one next month! I can’t believe how fast this first year has flown by.  Well the beginning of it sure didn’t… we had a really rough start but those hard times have been replaced with fun little memories of Jaid laughing for the first time, taking her first steps and smiling while she slept.   Richie and I have been so blessed by this tiny girl in our lives its hard to even imagine what it was like before her.  So February 8th this babe turns ONE.  I want to celebrate.. like really celebrate!! I started a pinterest board to get some ideas and here are my top...

Its Fall Ya’ll

The baby’s costume is already picked out, fall wreath is hanging on our door and our pumpkins are waiting to be carved. I love fall!!! It’s true Halloween is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited!  If I only had a pumpkin spice sented candle it would be perfect.  Not only am I pumped to be celebrating and eating candy this year but I’m equally thrilled because its going to be Jaid’s first Halloween. We are going to be carving up our pumpkins this weekend and I wanted to do something different with mine.  I ended up stumbling across a sweet blog post and  found exactly what I was looking for.  GOLD! Instead of carving or etching my pumpkin I’m busting out some gold spray paint and “glaming” it up.  Here is the link I found with a step-by-step process.  I’ll be posting my pumpkin after this weekend.  Hope it turns out as well as the ones in the...

DIY modern paper garland

I’m constantly looking for new blogs to read full of tips/tricks, graphic designs, diy and stories!   I find them super interesting and love seeing other people’s creative ideas.  Its fun and inspiring especially when you have an “itch” to get artsy and are lacking the mental brain power to come up with your own idea. One of my favorite finds lately has been the Girls With Glasses show.  You can check them out at http://thegirlswithglassesshow.blogspot.com/ They are hilarious and post a lot of diy ideas that seem easy to create! I know I’ve said this before but I can’t wait to learn and start sewing! I feel like there are endless possibilities to what I could make…ehhh! So I was browsing through pins again on the DIY section… its starting to become and addiction for me. I saw this cute idea on how to make your own garland.  Now in all reality I might not have any thing coming up where I’d need to make one but its still such a good idea and looks easy enough that I could sew it! For the steps on how to create this check out:...

DIY: plunger art for the kids

Ok so I helped out at the kid’s camp this year in the arts & crafts section.  I am blown away by how well these kids can paint, draw and chalk it up.  I’d like to think I was that creative when I was their age but who knows! Anyways we wanted to come up with some ideas that would engage boys and girls so we designed the “Plunger Station.”  Basically we put large rolls of butcher paper down on the ground and we had buckets of colored paint next to them.  The kids got to grab plungers (we picked up at the store for pretty cheap) and dunk them into the paint color of choice then slam it on top of the paper.  It was so fun to see the kids really enjoying themselves and creating art.  All in all it was pretty inexpensive craft but the end result was beautiful.  I’ve posted a picture of it...
